The scale below is based on 65 mph and a 1 to 1 gear ratio with a manual transmission in 4th gear. With an automatic transmission, your RPMs will be higher due to slippage in the transmission and the torque converter. GREEN equals best gas mileage but poor performance. BLUE equals good gas mileage and good power. RED equals poor gas mileage and best performance.
